At the weekend I took part in the Special Olympics swimming competition. I was really looking forward to taking part and to try to win some medals. I did the front crawl race getting a bronze medal and the relay team I was in, won a silver medal. It was a really good day and a new experience for me to take part in.
There was also a big audience there that came to support us.

week 2

At the weekend I went to Manchester to see the football ground in the stadium Old Trafford and I had a look around the changing rooms where the footballers get changed and I saw some tops and pictures from the last players that were on the pitch.

During the week I was working in the gym doing some weight lifting, some press-ups and going swimming.

At the weekend I went out to Starbeck on Saturday to look round some shops.

On Sunday I went again and I had a KFC and when I was there I had a tower burger.


This week on Monday I was doing work experience in the dining room putting out jugs and glasses on each table ready for lunch.

On Tuesday I was doing lots of lengths in the pool to practice for the Special Olympics and after college I got my photo taken for the buy a brick campaign.

My name is Nathan and i'm a first year student at Henshaws College. I came to this college because i am visually impaired and i need more support to become independent.

At the moment i live in one of the older houses on campus. My room is a bit small and it has no bathroom which means i have to share a bathroom with all the other students in the house. The corridors are long but a bit narrow which means we all bump into each other from time to time. If we have the new house we will get our own bigger bedroom with our own bathroom. It will also be decorated nicely and the furniture will be brand new!

I would ask other people to help us get our own dream house by buying a brick.
